Azawakhs are the hunters and guardians of the Southern Sahara Desert where they hunt the desert hare and protect herds from jackals. An Azawakh is never bought or sold, but given as a rare gift in its native land. Similar in build to the Sloughi, the Azawakh has a straight topline with an overall outline in the shape of a rectangle.
